Freelance Blogger, It Is Easier Than You Think..
As you can see in the disclosure page I am very happy to write reviews of people’s websites and services and get paid to comment about internet related things. Whether they are techy, finance or whatever. As long as I feel confident I can make the post interesting enough for you guys to read I am happy enough for someone to buy me a coffee (and a piece of cake sometimes!) to write it.
I have been researching partnerships for a while now, because there are a growing number of networks you can sign up for that will send you freelancing jobs that you can post about on your blog.
I decided that the best network was Pay Per Posts blog marketing model. These guys have recently picked up $7 Million additional VC (venture capital) funding and are growing from strength to strength. And as a result they are, in my opinion, the strongest brand and the number one network in the freelancing industry. They have over 28,000 bloggers, have been featured on the national morning shows as a great new way of making money, especially for part-timers and stay at home parents (and I am a BIG fan of supporting parents..) plus they have contacts with some of the biggest advertisers (think motion picture studios) and are landing great accounts all the time.
But, I also looked at how much different networks were paying on average per post, aswell as the frequency of posts you are able to do (although Pay Per Post currently cap it at 3 per day.. which I think is not necessary as long there is a high ratio of unpaid posts to paid posts.. I aim for 3:1 as a minimum..) and based on that analysis also decided on Pay Per Post.
I estimate that I will be able to make at least $100 a week from freelancing on this blog. Which is a tidy little sum. And I gotta confess, when you know that your blog is bringing you $5000 a year, for doing pretty much what you were doing before, it is not only easier to motivate yourself to sit down and keep writing, but I will get a free overseas holiday every year now as a result. Nice.
