New Domain or Old

What is better a shiny brand new domain, or an expired domain that has some history in the search engines?

This is a good question and one anyone interested in ranking well in the search engines and making money online would be well advised to develop their own perspective on. Because there are potential benefits on both sides of the argument, and plenty of people to support both aswell.

Personally, I think you need to be clear about your objectives. If you goal is to get ranked in the search engines, or should I say, out rank your competition in the search engines, then you are, in my opinion (remembering that you should easily be able to find people of the polar opposite..) going to rank better everyday of the week and twice on sunday with a new domain.

But, if you are looking for “link juice” and the site is being devloped primarily to boost the edge another page has, then you might be better off with investing in an old domain that already has some backlinks, giving you a head start on your link building.

Remember, linking is the voting system for the internet. Link well, and link often (to me..)
