The Joys of Credit Card Rewards
Like any other business, the business of credit cards is a competitive one and those who are issuing credit are in competition for your business as well as mine. As such, they can make some attractive offers. One of the way in which they make their business attractive is by offering reward programs in association with a number of retail stores where you acquire “points” as you pay back your balance. The points can later be cashed in for free merchandise. (In the past, I’ve cashed in my rewards for books, DVDs and even clothing)This is a great deal as the money you save on this merchandise can be put towards areas where the money can do some good such as payments for mortgages. Now, keep in mind, these reward programs are based on borrowing and are not total freebies. As with all other types of loans, the credit cards will require being paid back so do not go too over the top with trying to gain rewards and overcharging. Sometimes this basic common sense notice can escape people, but if you apply some basic fiscal responsibility to towards cashing in on reward programs you can walk away with a number of great gifts.
